Refund Policy
1. Satisfaction Guarantee
SwedishAutoGuard offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all our policies. If you're not completely satisfied with your insurance policy, we will work with you to address your concerns or provide a refund according to the terms outlined in this policy.
This guarantee applies to both new policies and policy renewals.
2. Eligibility for Refunds
You may be eligible for a refund in the following circumstances:
- Cancellation During Cooling-Off Period: If you cancel your policy within 14 days of receiving your policy documents (the "cooling-off period"), you will receive a full refund of any premiums paid, provided no claims have been made.
- Mid-Term Cancellation: If you cancel your policy after the cooling-off period but before the policy expiration date, you may be entitled to a prorated refund for the unused portion of your premium, minus applicable administrative fees.
- Duplicate Coverage: If you have unintentionally purchased duplicate coverage, you may be eligible for a full refund of one policy, subject to verification.
- Overcharges: If we have made a billing error that resulted in an overcharge, you will receive a refund for the overpaid amount.
- Vehicle Sale or Transfer: If you sell or transfer ownership of your insured vehicle and do not replace it with another vehicle, you may be eligible for a prorated refund for the unused portion of your premium.
3. Refund Request Timeframe
To be eligible for a refund, you must notify us of your cancellation or refund request within the following timeframes:
- 14 days from the date you receive your policy documents for cooling-off period cancellations
- 30 days from the date of discovery for billing errors or duplicate coverage
- As soon as possible for vehicle sale or transfer situations
Failure to notify us within these timeframes may affect your eligibility for a refund.
4. How to Request a Refund
Refund Request Process:

- Provide Policy Details: Include your policy number, the reason for your refund request, and any supporting documentation.
- Review: Our customer service team will review your request and may ask for additional information if needed.
- Confirmation: Once your request is approved, you will receive a confirmation email with details about your refund amount and processing timeframe.
- Processing: Refunds are typically processed within 7-10 business days from the date of approval.
5. Refund Calculation
Refunds are calculated based on the following principles:
- Cooling-Off Period Cancellations: 100% of premiums paid, with no administrative fees (provided no claims have been made).
- Mid-Term Cancellations: Prorated refund based on the unused portion of your premium, minus an administrative fee of 350 SEK.
- Method of Calculation: For prorated refunds, we calculate the unused portion of your premium on a daily basis from the date of cancellation to the original policy end date.
Example calculation:
- Annual premium: 6,000 SEK
- Policy period: January 1 to December 31
- Cancellation date: July 1 (halfway through the policy period)
- Unused premium: 3,000 SEK
- Administrative fee: 350 SEK
- Refund amount: 2,650 SEK
6. Non-Refundable Situations
There are certain situations where refunds may not be available:
- Claims Made: If you have made a claim on your policy, you may not be eligible for a refund upon cancellation.
- Fraud or Misrepresentation: If your policy is canceled due to fraud, misrepresentation, or material omission, you will not be eligible for a refund.
- Policy Expiration: No refund is available for policies that have already expired.
- Third-Party Financing: If your premium is financed through a third-party financing company, refund terms may be subject to their agreement terms.
7. Refund Payment Methods
Refunds will be processed using the original method of payment:
- Credit/Debit Card Payments: Refunds will be credited back to the original card used for payment.
- Bank Transfers: Refunds will be sent to the original bank account.
- Alternative Payment Methods: If the original payment method is no longer available or valid, we will work with you to determine an alternative refund method.
Please note that refunds to credit/debit cards typically take 3-5 business days to appear on your statement after processing, while bank transfers may take 5-7 business days.
8. Special Circumstances
8.1 Death of Policyholder
In the unfortunate event of a policyholder's death, the legal representative or next of kin may request a refund for the unused portion of the premium. We may require documentation such as a death certificate and proof of legal representation.
8.2 Policy Replaced with Another SwedishAutoGuard Policy
If you cancel your policy because you are replacing it with another SwedishAutoGuard policy (e.g., upgrading coverage or insuring a different vehicle), the administrative fee may be waived at our discretion.
8.3 Cancellation Due to Regulatory Changes
If changes in regulations or legal requirements necessitate the cancellation of your policy, we will provide a full refund of any unused premium without administrative fees.
9. Disputes and Appeals
If you disagree with our refund decision or calculation, you may appeal by:

- Including your policy number, details of your original refund request, and the reason for your appeal
- Providing any additional documentation that supports your appeal
We will review your appeal and respond within 14 business days. If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome, you may contact the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or seek legal advice regarding further options.
10. Changes to This Refund Policy
We reserve the right to modify this refund policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Changes to this refund policy will not apply retroactively to policies purchased before the change date.
It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically for changes. Your continued use of our services after any modifications to this refund policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
